Show LOCALS Sergeant and Mrs. Burnes Tool-son Tool-son of Denver, Colorado are spending the week with Mr. Tool-son's Tool-son's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard H. Toolson and family. The Willow Valley camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their last meeting of the year Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Harper W. Noble. The following fol-lowing program was given: song, La Dea Moseman; history of Willis Lemon was read by Mrs. Nellie Homer; reading, Mrs. Albert Carter;- lesson, "Pioneer Monuments" was given by Mrs. Ray Moseman; talks by the county officers, Mrs. Quinney and Mrs. Elva Snow of Logan, were given. Refreshments were served by the hostess. A program was given at the Fourth ward Tuesday evening in honor of Ralph Roylance, Ferris Hillyard, Leo Hymas, Wesley Reese, Lyle Michaels, who are leaving soon for the armed forces. After the program a dance was given by the four wards. The Smithfield Stake Relief Society So-ciety is . sponsoring a canning demonstration June 6 at 2:30 p. m. at the Junior high school. New cooking charts will be distributed. Anyone interested in pressure cooker canning is invited to attend. at-tend. Sergeant and Mrs. Darrell Porter Por-ter and daughter of Alaska were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Moseman on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Porter and daughters Lois and Gale of Esca-lante, Esca-lante, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.' Ray Moseman and family. Mr. and Mrs. William Moseman are spending the week at Salt Lake with relatives. Farrell Hillyard, who has. served in the U. S. Navy for the past year is visiting with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wayman Hillyard for ( two weeks. Captain Ralph Gutke of California Cali-fornia is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. . A. Gutke this week. ' John Pilgrim, Mrs. Margaret Hill and Staff Sergeant Donald L. Pilgrim of Malad, and Mrs. Mark Fuhriman of Ogden were the guests of Mrs. Helen P. Tool-son Tool-son on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Woodruff and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lor-in Lor-in Low visited with relatives at Salt Lake City, Sunday. ' Mrs. Mable Athey and Jimmy arrived home recently from Los Angeles after spending several ' months with relatives. ' Mrs. Lou" Bain spent three days visiting with friends at Hyrum this week. Bishop Sylvester Low and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Nilson are spending spend-ing the week at Burley, Idaho on business. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Minkler announce an-nounce the birth of a daughter recently at the Budge hospital. Mrs. Minkler was formerly Miss Alene Chambers. Coleman Read attended the Shell convention at Salt Lake on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Toolson and Willis Smith of Los Angeles were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Toolson, Sunday. Mrs. Bert Thornley and son are visiting with relatives in Los Angeles and with her son La Vee who is serving in the U. S. Navy. Mrs. Norman Lundbsrg is leaving leav-ing this week for Boise, Idaho where she will visit with her sister for two weeks. |
