Show Scout Softball Leagues Planned Detailed plans for play of the Cache Valley Boy Scout council softball league, were announced today by H. B. (Hy) Hunsaker, chairman of the senior Scout athletic ath-letic committee. All seven districts in the Cache Valley area are planning to have leagues, he announced, and it is expected that some of the Wyoming Wyo-ming areas will join in the program. pro-gram. A council playoff will be conducted to determine the winner win-ner and runnerup. Each district will effect their own organization, with the district dis-trict Scout commissioner to act or select a softball leader. A committee com-mittee of three scouts from three different troops will be named as the league directors. Play will be under official softball rules. Players must be registered scouts between 15 and 18 years of age, and they may not transfer trans-fer rom one team to another except ex-cept through bona fifde residence transers. Between June 1 and 15, unregistered players may be recruited re-cruited from any area and in areas where there are not enough players, two wards may combine to form a team with the sanction of the district representative. The committee suggested that each disrlct set up a league to include single or double game eliminations. This play must be completed by August 3, and district dis-trict champions will enter a council coun-cil tourney to be run off between August 1 and 12, Professor Hunsaker Hun-saker explained. |
