Show Scout Roll Call Begins Next Week Plans for the annual charter reviews, troop inventory and roll call ceremonies of the Cache Valley Boy Scout council were completed Sunday, Executive Preston W. Pond reported. The events will be conducted between November 15 and December 15. Mr. Pond announced that the membership objective of 2300 already al-ready has been surpassed if normal nor-mal increase is noted during the inventory and roll call period, total membership may be increased in-creased to 2450, the largest In history. A banner, now held by Smith-field Smith-field district, will be awarded to the first district completing the registration procedure, Mr. Pond said. The emblem was won first by the Oneida district but the Smithfield unit has held it for two years. It becomes a permanent possession after three years. The group discussed leadership problems and the work of district dis-trict and neighborhood commissions commis-sions at the meeting, he said. Mr. Pond pointed out that 81 per cent of the troop units had . trained leadership last year compared com-pared with 56 pep cent now. This figure will be increased materially material-ly after the University of Scouting which is scheduled to get underway under-way tonight. They advocated that the) district dis-trict commissioners meet at least once each month with the scoutmasters scout-masters in their units for a round-table round-table discussion. |
