Show All the legislature asked for was that sheep and other animals be not herded or corralled or dipped within a very narrow, limited space from the streams supplying towns with water for dom stic purposes, and now Governor Thomas vetoes the bill, after carrying it around in his pockets until the legislature is about to adjourn, and when the bill was so badly worn ont be almost had to paste H together, because it would drive the speep out of Utah if Manti and Salina must have pure water. Still the gentleman aays, when too late to listen, if you had only demanded that sheep and cattle be kept from within five miles, I tuight have approved. One mile was the limit in the lint bill and two miles frcm any city, etc. Is he crezy? Vby if the original bill had said five miles Governor Thomas' wooly and horned friends would at this writing writ-ing have been fully a thousand miles over the border. |
