Show A Suicide Great excitement was caused on the street at Provo Thursday by the news that Peter Benson had committed suicide by hanging himself ,'n an old shed on the Pratt propetty on Centre street. Benson has been acting queer for some time, and seemed to know that his mind was unbalanced. Mr. Clark whose folks keep the Provo house where the shed is situated, was watching Benson. He missed him and went to look for him, just ten minutes from the time that Clark become aware that Eenson was missing he found his body hanging in the old shed, Benson had tied his feet together with wire and hung himself by means of a small nail driven so low that his feet almost touched the ground, and he had to bend his knees in order to throw the full v. eighr of his body on the rope attached to his neck. The coroners jury held an inquest over the body and returned a vet diet cf death by means of hanging' the deed being committed by himself. Mr. Benson was about 45 years of age. Tne thought that his mind was unbalanced un-balanced preyed upon his mind to sach an extent as to make h:rr. morbid. His wife wanted to have the home mortgaged in order that he might get proper treatment for bettering his con dition. Benson did not want to sign the mortgage, but finally did so with the resuit above stated. |
