Show PARTY On last Saturday evening at the home of Mr, and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell, occurred one . of the most enjoyable affairs of the New Year in the form I of a surprise party in honor of their i daughter, Delia's twenty-first birthday. birth-day. The young people assembled at the house about 8:30 and were decorated de-corated with caps furnished by the hostess the gentlemen wearing the green crepe paper and the ladies red The color scheme was carried out in the decorations of the parlor by evergreen boughs and festoons of green and red in the dining room. The center piece was a large birthday birth-day cake on which were 21 candles in red holders and at the ends of the table were red carnations and green ferns. An observation game was the 1st announcement first prize abox of candy won by Fred Cottrell, while George Rogers carried off the consolation, con-solation, a pair of 10c spectacles. Then came the stunts in -which ev eryone had a chance to show his or her ability in performing, as they were assigned a stunt. A "Chicken Picking" contest created cre-ated no little amount of . fun . The hostess asked for volunteers and Ray Snyder was first, to respond. A placecard bearing the same number of chickens as there were girls present was; posted up and Mr. Snyder was given a bow and arrow and told to pick his choice, which he did, and upon examination of the name under, said chicken he found his partner for Bupper. Ray Caster-line Caster-line was not apt with the arrow as some of the older boys so was given giv-en the consolation an egg. , Refreshments were served .." after which several numbers were sung by H. M. Richards and Delia Cottrell. "Encouragement" was then given by Fred Cottrell and last not but tot least was the opening of mr guests of honor. All -intTuwl in tnn I ti . Misa Delia's future and after singing "When the Roll is Called up Yonder" Yon-der" the guests departed feeling they "had had a delightful evening. Those present were: .- Miss.
