Show Writes From Fort Duchesne Ft. Duchesne, Utah, August 5, 1927. Dear Editor: My wife is sending you a notice of the bazaar and Seed Show which South Milford is planning, so I will write you of theUintuh Basin Industrial In-dustrial conference which we are attending. at-tending. The first of the three days program has just ended. They are having a great gathering. People are here from all directions and their programs are full of the best Utah can give. A part of this show relating to alfalfa and noxious weeds will be added to what we have for the South Milford Bazaar and Seed Show. It is well worth the time to attend these conferences. A military band from Fort Douglas helps with the music. In addition to the general program t he races, parade, ball games, dances, etc., twice a day, you have your choice of hearing one of six or more problems n agriculture or economics discussed by from one to four authorities. There are two days more of conference. State Commissioner of Agriculture, Bennison and Dr. Stewart, Agronomist, from the state ngricutural college, promise their fullest help to our Seed Show and Bazaar. I have not seen many of the alfalfa fields but some of the growers say that prospects are not so good for a crop this year. They have still a million pounds of alfalfa seed in the grower's bank up here. I am writing this on a cot in a camp tent on the grounds. The Fort Douglas Military Band is giving us a lively one while I write. Yours truly, CHESTER G. HASKELL. |
