Show NEWS NOTES OF BEAVER COUNTY HIGHJCH00L Last week a check for two dolalrs was received by Mr. Izatt through the mail in payment to the B. C. H. S. on the interest of a Liberty Loan bond, purchased by the students. A vote was upt up before the students stu-dents as to where this money should be placed. The majority voted to put it into the Red Cross fund. ' The matinee Thursday afternoon was well attended by the little folk. .. Princess Kiku was played successfully success-fully by the high school students. The cast was made up of girls entirely. entire-ly. The play was well attended. Proceeds Pro-ceeds went to M. W. C. A. After the play the Civic club entertained the ones that took part. Between the first and second scenes, there was a piano selection by Mr. Allred; between be-tween the second and third a saxa-phohe saxa-phohe selection by Mrs. Duffin, Mr. Allred and Miss Lillian Stoker, accompanied ac-companied by Miss Mercy Orwin. Between Be-tween the third and fourth scenes, another saxaphone solo by Mrs. Duffln. Duf-fln. .. .... The punching bag has been received. receiv-ed. All we need now is the practics. Do not be surprised if you see some " ---real "champs" among the girls. They get their practice in the H. S. gym. The best Assembly of the year was held Wednesday afternoon in the auditorium. au-ditorium. It was called at 3:30 and It was commenced by a song of Thanksgiving, followed by a saxa-phone saxa-phone solo by Miss Stoker, accompanied accompan-ied by Mr. Allred. . Talk by Rev. Zook . Piano Solo Miss Orwin Talk by Mr. C. C. Sloan. We were very well pleased with the talks and we all extend our thanks to Rev Zook and Mr. Sloan. Come again Fred Cottrell, formerly of the B. C. H. S., now of Westminster college of Salt Lake, is here among his old school friends. He is editor for the year book at Westminster. He spent . Wednesday at school transacting bus lness with Harold Carlson, our busi-: busi-: ness manager, and visiting. The Year Book staff are very busy these days. We are surely going to have -a good year book. School dismissed Wednesday until Monday morning for Thanksgiving holidays. The Ninth grade held a class meet ing Tuesday at noon. Business in general was discussed. : : |
