Show LOCALS and PERSONALS Miss Effie Campbell and Jim Concannon spent Sunday at Beaver, visiting her father, John Campbell. Mrs. Wm. Fernley has been quite sick with an attack of pneumonia but is feeling much improved. Lee Gray is quite sick with a hard cold. Rev. Homer Root returned Thursday Thurs-day from Ogden, where he went Monday Mon-day to attend the district conference of the Methodist church . j W. F. Miller and mother, Mrs. Miller Mil-ler left Sunday for St. George, where they will spend a few weeks. Mrs. Eva Banks entertained her sewing club Wednesday, Jan. 4. Delicious De-licious refreshments were served at midnight to the following members: Alice Ward, Alice Schow, Leah Smith, Jeanette Kohler, Pauline VanWorm-er, VanWorm-er, Jayne Sloan, Delia Kirk, Mable Bardfield, Reva Mattingtly, Thelma Talbot, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Talbot, left Monday night for Satl Lake City. Mrs. Charles Moore and son Donald, went to California New Year's day an dattended the Rose Tournament at Pasadena, which was a wonderful sight. There was a very large crowd over 500,000 people, were present, and the floats were very beautiful and weather was fine. Bright and sunshiny. They spent several days at Anaheim, with Mrs. Ruth Eden and family, returning home Thursday of last week. Mi-, and Mrs.s Horace Palmer and mother, Mrs. Palmer, came home from California, last week where they spent the holidays with relatives, j Mrs. E. O. Puffer of Beaver, is , here to visit Mr. Puffer, at the Mil- ford hospital. Mr. Puffer is getting along nicely and hopes to be able to ; return to his home in a short time. Otto Steenbock who is working at Caliente is here spending a few days with Mrs. Steenbock. Karl S. Carlton made a business trip to Beaver Monday. Warren Neilsen and Raymond Hodges' Hod-ges' Garage at Beaver, were in town S'ttur-iay on business. Mrs. Ruth Eden of Anaheim, Cal., who has been here visiting her Iricr.d, Mrs. Chas. Moore returned to home New Year's day, accompanied by Mrs. Moore and son, Donald. Mrs. Stclhi Forbes of Black Rock has been spending several days here at the Atkin Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Carbon and family motored over to Salina Sunday Sun-day and spent the day with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stanley will leave Saturday for Provo, to spend a few days. Mi.ss Freida Bahem, waitress at the U. P. depot has been confined to her room with a severe case of tonsilitis. She is able to be at her work again. Mrs. Jack Idol and Mrs. George Goodwin spent Tuesday here attending attend-ing the demonstration meeting given by Mrs. Effie Barrows, of the U. A. C, at the L. D. S. church. They were the dinner guests of Mrs. Karl S. Carlton and Mrs. Kenneth Hollis County Superintendent John Carlisle, Car-lisle, accompanied by Mrs. Carlisle, spent Tuesday here. Mrs. Jay Jeffers returned the first of last week from Provo, where she spent the Christmas holidays with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Peters, who are very happy over the arrival of a fine baby boy on the 26th day of December. Mrs. Peters was formerly Miss Mary Williamsson of here and has a host of friends who wish to congratulate them. Ralph Casterline, a former resident resi-dent of our city, arrived from Los Angeles during the week en route to Tunnell 11, where he expects to be employed for several months. Record Nevada. Jos. F. Murdock went to Salt Lake City Friday with his son Grant, of Greenville, who had to have an operation opera-tion for a growth in his eyes that had bothered him for sime time. They returned Sunday. Wayne Stocker returned home Wednesday from Oregon, where he has been in the life saving service for the past few years. Geo. Cockett and Wm. Boyle were here from Beaver Wednesday inviting invit-ing the Milford sports to join in the big rabbit hunt which is to be held tomorrow. Mrs. Estelle Forbes of Black Rock was here this past week for medical treatment. Dr. Hunter was in attendance. at-tendance. Henry East and Mil Johnson of Provo, visited our city this week. L. G. Stephenson and J. J. Dever-eaux, Dever-eaux, two prominent wool buyers of Salt Lake City, were here on Tuesday. Tues-day. R. J. Elliott of Modena, was here Sunday for some dental work. G. W. Yonder of Garrison, was here Monday. R. A. Melville came over from Fillmore Fill-more Tuesday. C. D. Michaelsen and M. Anderson of Gunnison, spent several days here of late. Mr. Andy Sardal of Long Beach, came in to inspect the Tungsten mine at Garrison. Ike Williams, Ed . Williams and Harry Scott all registered from Garrison Gar-rison this week. J. P. O. Driscoll of Los Angeles, was here Wednesday. Jas. E. Goff and H. R. Robinson Panguitch in our city yesterday. G. A. Hanson and Parley Hanson of Salt Lake City, were here yesterday yester-day looking into the wood business. Mr. G. S. Quate of Garrison, arrived ar-rived here yesterday bringing his young son Boyd, for an operation on his teeth and jaw. Dr. Kohler was in charge. J. P. Allen of Tooele, is with us today . Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Western are still at Beaver. The B P. W. club held its regular monthly session at the Atkin Hotel Monday evening. The evening was consumed in attending to business matters of the club. A program will be carried out at the February session. ses-sion. A very good attendance was at the meeting. The next session will be held Monday February 31st, at the same place. Mr. Willard Scocroft, prominent merchant of Ogden, was in Milford yesterday on busines. |
