Show Lions Club Hold Regular Meeting The Lions held their regular noonday noon-day lunch at the Union Pacific dining room last Wednesday. H. Bowman made a report on th Christmas tree finances. He said that the Lions and the U. P. employees had the affairs in charge, that all bills had been paid and there was a cash balance of about ten dollars. The report was accepted and the committees were discharged. Considerable discussion was engaged en-gaged in with regard to the proposed new road connecting the Arrowhead trail and the Grand Canyon highway, from a point south of the Beaver County line to some point at or near Orton, just north of Panguitch. The road to go via Freemont. It was recognized that this was of vital importance im-portance to Milford as a shipping point. H. E. Bowman stated that the distance dis-tance from here to Panguitch by this proposed cut-off, would be only 18 miles farther than the distance from Panguitch to Marysvale, their nearest point of the D. & R. G. R. R. Sam Cline of the Ornamental street lighting . committee reported that his committee had gone as far as they could until the question of hard-surfacing the Main street was settled. Secretary M. P. Lewis, was requested to communicate with the State Road Commission, asking for information in regards to cost per square yard of paving, so that the road committee could arrive at some basis on which to estimate the cost per foot |
