Show Beaver City Briefs (From The Press) Two auto loads of people went to visit the Uzona oil fields last Sunday Sun-day morning and see the seep which is located at the F. F. Pearce wash, fourteen miles south of St. George, where the oil residue hangs from the top like great icicles and seeps the sides of the 14-foot tunnel which has been dug in the side of the mountain. Everybody was very enthusiastic en-thusiastic and interested in what they saw. The company is formed and ready for business. Drilling will soon, be started. Those who went were Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Murdock Mur-dock and daughter, Merlyn; Mrs. Bert Stoney, Mrs. E. O. Puffer, Isa-dore Isa-dore Lessiug, Clarence McMullen, Ross Storey, John Gunn, Fred Stoney, Burnett Swindlehurst. Mrs.' Ezra Ashworth met with a painful accident last week while washing with her electric washer. Her hand was caught in the electric wringer and badly mashed, but nq bones were broken. Jos R. Murdock met with a painful pain-ful accident last week. While riding rid-ing a young colt he was breaking the colt became startled at a wagon loaded with milk cans which came I up bhi e dnatdni:ofchoco- NOochoin up behind it and jumped, throwing Mr. Murdock off and bruising him ! up pretty badly, but breaking no ! bones. Mr. Murdock says he was getting ready for the rodeo. He is j getting over the fall all right and able to be around. I ; Mr. and Mrs.- Karl S. Carlton and son Walter motored over to Milford Sunday morning. Miss Eva Baker of Minersville was a Beaver visitor for several days. She has been staying at the home o Mrs. Larue Goodwin. ..Mr. and Mrs. Frank Low and two .little sons, Mrs. Julia Low and Arthur Ar-thur Fotheringham spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Robinson and Miss Kendall Franke at Rocky Ford. Among those who attended the funeral of Alex Boyter here' Saturday Satur-day afternoon from Milford were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fernley, Mr. and Mrs. James Boyter, Mrs. William Cochrane, Mrs. Wm. Sterling, Sam Cline, George Jefferson and Charles Moore and Al Cline. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Stenbock of Milford who have been on a weeks' trip to the grand canyon and pipes spring were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl S. Carlton, Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Mrs. Clyde Messenger and Mrs. R. Chase Murdock were hostesses at a charming bundle shower Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. George C. Murdock, Jr., in the latter's honor. hon-or. The gifts were varied and artistic. ar-tistic. Choice melons, cake, C9ndy end nuts were served to Mrs. Dennis White, Mrs. John P. Murdock, Mrs Arnold Low, Mrs. Ra'pii Hntclvings, Mrs. Taylor Farnsworth, Mrs. Geo. Murdock Sr., Miss Kendall Franke 1 and Mrs. L. M. Robinson. Little i Miss Catherine Murdock ably assisted assist-ed during the afternoon. J. F. Tolton left Tuesday for Provo to attend the funeral service Wednesday of Professor Reinhard Measer. He was to be one of the speakers. Mrs. Lottie Pearce and son Earnest, Earn-est, returned home Monday from Salt Lake City where they have been for the past two weeks. While there Ernest underwent a nasal operation which was very critical. He has recovered from it very nicely and is able to enter high school. |
