Show Society Notes A bundle shower in honor of Mrs. C. R. Outzen was given by the Victory Rebekah lodge No. 43 at the I. O. O.-F. O.-F. hall Wednesday evening. The evening was spent playing five hundred. hun-dred. Mrs. Litchfield received high score and Mrs. Outzen consolation. A dainty luncheon was servad at ten o'clock. The guest of honor re e'.ved many beautiful and useful piesents. Sherwood, Sher-wood, Mrs, Ray Stancliff, Mrs. Litchfield, Litch-field, Mrs. Carlson, Mrs. Roy Cotter-ell, Cotter-ell, Mrs. Jennings, Mrs. Jos. R. Mur-dock, Mur-dock, Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Poole, Mrs. Morgan Griffiths, Mahalie Sherwood, Ardath Johnson, Ida Cranford, and the guest of honor. Miss Noama Yither gave a birthday birth-day party at the Orpheum theatre Sunday. The invited guests were: Katherine Henderson, Beth Lindsey, Phyliss Braun, Virgie Willam, Irene and Lillian McCulley, Lela Brad-shaw, Brad-shaw, Carol Chilton, Margery and Petra Young, Rosele Smith, Virgilla Galnour, Alice and Margaret Jone3, Margaruite Handlon, and Naomla Yither. The Ladies of the Catholic League met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Charles Sportsman. The afternoon was spent in sewing. Light refreshments refresh-ments were served. They will sew next Wednesday at the home of Mrs. John Hanlon. All Catholic ladies are asked to be there. PIONEER HONORED The daughters of the pioneerB celebrated the 81st birthday anniversary anniver-sary of Soren Sorensen at Elsinore Sunday, September 12th, with a musical program. Among those taking part in the program were Miss Ardath Johnson and Miss Louise Levi, of Milford. Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock entertained enter-tained the Bridge club at her horns Saturday, afternoon. Mrs. C. C. Sloan won the prize for points and Mrs. Williams, the prize for honors. Mrs. Myron Lewis won the guest prize. At five o'clock a dainty and artistic luncheon was served to the following: Mrs. Chas. Moore, Mrs. Jack Thiessen, Mrs. Ruth Williams, Mrs. Eva Evans, Mrs. C. C. Sloan, Mrs. Myron Lewis, Mrs. George Fernely, and Mrs. W. W. Markham. OLD FRIENDS CLUB The members of the Old Friends club met at the home of Mrs. B. Hutchins Wednesday afternoon. The afternoon was spent ing playin "500." The first prize was awarded to Mrs. Will Fernley and the second prize to Mrs. Scott Tanner. A delicious deli-cious luncheon was served to the following ladies: Mrs. Fred Levi, Mrs. Carl Levi, Mrs. Antone Johnson. John-son. Mrs. Ralph Quayle, MrB. Roy White. Mrs. George Ranson, Mrs. Scott Tanner and Mrs. Will Fernley. The P. R. C. C. club was entertained enter-tained by Mrs. L. G. Gray Saturday evening. Mrs. W. O. Carlson won high score and Mrs. Maurice JohB- eon, the consolation. Delicious refreshments re-freshments were served to Mesdames Van Wormer, Morg Griffiths, Ralph Quale, Emma Smith, Winnie Johnson, John-son, W. O. Carlson, Ardath Johnson and the hostess, Mrs. Clay. Mrs. Itha Kinney entertained the Bridge club Saturday evening at her home. High score was won by Mrs. Kinney, Mrs. Clark Kesler, second prize and Mrs. Myron Lewis won the guest prize. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served to the following: Mesdames Fernley, Clarence Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, Frank Farmer, W. W. Mark-ham, Mark-ham, S. C. Ruschmier, Myron Lewis, Erma Gillies. NADA NEWSLETS Sheriff Jenson of Beaver was here on business Monday. M. H. Hughes of Avon, visited friends here Sunday. Bernard Jameson and Carlton Culmsee were Lund visitors Saturday Satur-day and Sunday, accompanied by Anthony Stephens. J. F. Dinwiddie, Mrs. White and Mrs. Parrent spent Saturday in Minersville. School opened Monday with a good attendance. Bernard Jameson, the efficient instructor. The 9th grade has been added this year. Delbert Jameson and Merrill Gray, accompanied Mr. Jameson to .Nada last Saturday. Other Minersville Miners-ville visitors were: M. Craw, C. B. Gray and son, Francis. Superintendent Berlow of Iron county and the primary supervisor, Miss Williams, visited the Iron-Beaver Iron-Beaver county joint school here Wednesday. Will White went to Milford Wednesday Wed-nesday to consult Dr. Hunter. Ralph Packard spent Sunday in Salt Lake City. Bernard Jameson went to Lund Monday. |
