Eyring dean of the college of arts and sciences at the Brigham Young university. uni-versity. The appointments were made at a meeting of the executive committee of the university. Provo. This year the state of Utah has under construction road projects which will require an expenditure ex-penditure of more than $2,500,000, according ac-cording to Preston G. Peterson, chairman of the state road commis-sion commis-sion who delivered an address here before the Provo chapter of the American Association of Engineers. Manti. County Agricultural agent C. O. Stott announces that three government gov-ernment veterinarians are testing milch cows for tuberculosis in the southern part of Sanpete county. They will begin in Manti soon and will complete the testing of all milch cows in the county from which the product is1 sold. Ogden.- Willard, fourteen mile? north of Ogden, Sunday suffered a slight recurrence of the flood of last August when Willard creek overflowed over-flowed onto the paved highway, due to high water. No serious damage was done, but traffic was tied up and it became necessary to construct a bridge over a certain portion of the road on account of the overflow. Brigham City. The mysterous disappearance dis-appearance of C. T. Murphy, 41, farmer of Corinne, who had been missing since last November was found in the shallow water of Ches-apeaks Ches-apeaks bay, at the mouth of Bear river, by Carl Larsen of Duckville. Logan. Dr. Willard Gardner, professor pro-fessor of physics at the U. A. C, has resigned his positian at the college and will leave soon for the University Universi-ty of California, where he will conduct con-duct examinations for students who have made application for their doctor's doc-tor's degree at that university. 5Logan. An egg-laying contest for, the state of Utah will be conducted next November by the experiment station of the Utah Agricultural col-legt col-legt in an effort to stimulate the breeding of fowls and the hatching of chicks, according to Professor Byron Alder, poultry husbandman at the college. Salt Lake City. Eight people were hurt when three cars on the Giant racer at Saltair collided. The cause of the accident has not been definitely determined. Provo. According to Charles E. Hawkins, county assessor, the assessment assess-ment of Utah county now exceeds the $53,000,000 mark. Mr. Hawkins has just completed the assessing work for 1924, and has filed his report with the state board of equalization. Salt Lake City. David Schayer, who was manager of the State theatre thea-tre during July and August, 1923, pleaded guilty in the United States district court to failure to pay $2425 taxes due the government on admissions admis-sions of patrons to the theatre. Provo.
