Show LABOR UNION HOME BUILT IN CAPITAL Carpenters Now Have Their Own Headquarters To the several fine buildings In Washington which are owned and devoted de-voted to the interests of organized labor, la-bor, there lias been added another, tiie Carpenters' building. The structure, costing 5300,000, is eig'at stories high. An auditorium on the top floor accommodates 550 persons per-sons and is to be used by the carpenters' carpen-ters' organization and by other unions. Clubrooms are located in the basement. base-ment. "Washington is the national head- j quarters of the A. F. of L. and of a number of the international unions. Several more have decided to come here, or are considering the move. This and the growing local needs justify jus-tify our new building.'' said Richard r'urdett, business agent of the union. |
