Show I Achievement Day Exercises Are Held Achievement Day exercises for the j girl's cooking clubs were held in Minersville Tuesday at 1 o'clock. A splendid program was rendered consisting con-sisting of the following numbers: Club songs, by Club girls; prayer, Brother Alma Banks; vocal solo, Fern Banks; short talk by Mrs. Sadie Morris; Mor-ris; instructor of foods project of the Extension service of the U. A. C.; muffin demonstration, Fern Carter and Olive Roberts; quartette by Sylva Rollins, LaRue Meyers, Rowena Bradfield and Mildred Hardy of the L. C. Cooking club; short talk, Mrs. Robert Smith of Beaver; kitchen drill, Four Leaf Clover Club girls; short talk, and presentation of pins by Lew Mar Price; recitations, Nona Marshall; club song, by the club girls. The following club girls successfully successful-ly finished the work as outlined by the extenson service of the U. A. C, and received first year club pins; Gertrude Carter, Vaudis Carter, Elma El-ma Thompson, Grace Joseph, LaPriel Baker, Maxine Hardy, Olive Hardy, Kathryn Vincent, Annis Goff, Nona Osborne, Alene Gray, Ida Richards, Nona Marshall, Margie Blackburn, Helen Pryor, Carne Corbridge, Milba Jameson, Dorothy Banks, Vemetta Rollins, Reta Hall, Maud Myers, Beth Rollins, Vivie Marshall, Thurma Eyre, Nilda Eyre, Priscinda Mathews, Sylva Rollins, Rowena Bradfield, Virginia Banks, Neta Baker, Mildred Hardy, Nora Sherwood, Fern Carter, Lois Carter, Vera Dotson, Lelia Marshall, Hanna Pryor, Olive Roberts, Irma Gillins, Treva Bradfield, Clysta Osborne Os-borne and Ruby Hardy. Leader's pins were presented to the following leaders: Lue Eyre, Fern linsBanks, Drue Marshall, Marie Rollins, Rol-lins, Gwen Banks, Julia Banks, Verna Thompson, Lucy Osborne, Virginia Davidson and Elva Hall. O MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER A delightful miscellaneous shower and supper was given Monday even- j ing by Mrs. A. E. Thomas n honor of Miss Ruth Elmer, a bride of the month. A profusion of mid-summer flowers were used for the decorations of the home. The guests were seated at two long tables. Pink and white roses were used for the effective decorations deco-rations ot fhe supper table. A large wedding cake with a bride and groom formed the center piece. The place cards were bride and groom and a toast to the bride. The favors were pink and rose nut cups. Five hundred hun-dred was played after supper. The first prize was won by Mrs. Ray Beld-ing, Beld-ing, second by Mrs. W. H. Elmer, and Miss Ruth Elmer drew the free-for-all. The guest of honor received many beautiful gifts. Those invited were Mesdames Ray Belding, W. H. Akert, Mark Smith, E. Copeland, R. Williams, Helen Willis, Ruth Willis, H. Johnson, J. Allen, J. D. Gillies, F. Mathews, F. S. Tucker, Jo Huges, S.
