Show W. S. S. THANKSGIVING The season for expression of gratitude grat-itude is at hand. Our pilgrim fathers, fath-ers, when they set foot on Plymouth Plym-outh Rock, bowed them down and gave thanks; and since that eventful event-ful occasion, this great, free land of ours has commemorated the event by prayer and thanksgiving. This day ip this momentous year means more than ever. It signifies j a universal thanksgiving. The prayers of mankind shall be as incense in-cense in the cathedral of the world God will understand. On that day immortalized by Plymouth Rock, let us give thanks to the Lord of Hosts for the victory which 'he made ours. It was the victory of righteousness. It was the victory of the Omnipent. He who guided our great armies through devious paths of blood to the high summita of light. Let us give thanks, not for selfish self-ish privileges enjoyed, but for the opportunity we have to share our crust with the less fortunate; to . share our hopes and aspirations , with those who have lived in dark-. dark-. ness and destructive discipline. Let . us give thanks by proving our gratitude grat-itude in helping those who need our , succor and plead for it with the voice of a heart that is kin to our own. Those nations that were humbled in the dust by the valor of our arms directed by Jehova, need our love and sympathy in this grievous hour of their defeat. Let us 'please 'God by giving it without stint so there may be realized that "Peace on earth good will to men," which the angels Bang at the nativity. |
