Show EDWARDS ONLY BOY FROM MILFORD WHO GIVES HIS LIFE Only one boy of all those who entered military service from our city has had to make the supreme sacrifice. He gave his life for his country. Mrs. Francis M. Edwards, of (his city, received a telegram from, the War department at Washington, last week, announcing the death of her son, Frank W. Edwards, of influenza. in-fluenza. Edwards went overseas last July with the 262 infantry, from Camp Lewis, where he had been in training since the first draft call. A short time ago his mother received a letter in which she was informed that he had been wounded in the head by a machine gun bullet while going over the top, and that he had just been released by the doctor. He also stated that he would be glad to get back into action and- help finish the big job of whipping the Huns. Nine days after the date of the letter he died from influenza. Frank Edwards was born 24 years ago in Mississippi, and-came to Utah with his parents in 1902. His father fath-er died the following year.' He leaves a widowed mother, four sisters sis-ters and two brothers who are all grief stricken over the sad news. W G C |
