Show Nephi L. Morris has been nominated as the gubernatorial candidate of t'ue Republican party in Utah. The contest was a bitter one and the result has not pleased all factions, which is only natural and to be expected. Nevertheless, loyalty to the party, to say nothing of loyalty to the good oi the country calls for a united support of Mr. Morris, not only in November, but in August and September and October as well. This ii no time to "sulk" over miscarriage of one's political wishes. Governor Spry, in many respectsi has made an excellent governor. Especially is it true that he has always looked out for the interests of Utah in regard to good roads and public buildings, and his "sticktoitiveness," as prominently exemplified in the Hilstrom case, has proven that he has baok-bone. But another candidate is now before us, and one whom the people believe will do as well, if not better than the present administration, good as that hae been. Let all true Republicans support the regular ticket aud carry the party to viotory in Utah, with Hughes and Fairbanks. |
