Show u THE INTER-MOUNTAIN STATES Montana, Idaho and Utah are each big enough and rich enough to support fifty millions of people ; Japan does it, and each inter-mountain state is bigger and better than the land of Nippon. Each of these states has prairies broader than Kansas, more mountains than Colorado, more timber than Michigan, more copper than Spain, more cattle than Texas, more water power than England, more game than Alaska, more gold than all the eastern states combined, more sunshine than California, more rivers than New York, and enough farming land to supply the wide world. The only danger threatening any of these states is over-legislation and regulation of its industries, and high taxes. Other western states have suffered from these evils and these states can profit by their experience. There is absolutely no excuse to blight these states with the curse of freak legislation and higher taxes. Let capital know it is safe to invest and it will not be legislated, regulated and taxed out of existence. Let the laboring man know that this is a place where he is given a square deal, and nothing can stop it from becoming becom-ing the greatest section in the union. |
