Show Word was received late Tuesday evening that Mrs. McCaig. mother-in-law of station agent C. H. Cody, of Lund, died at 8 p. m. Mrs. McCaig Mc-Caig will be buried at Salt Lake Friday. There is a vacancy for a conductor and two brakemen in through freight frei-ght service between Salt Lake and Lynndyl. Bids close March 14th. 1919. Mr. A. C. Starr will arrive in Milford Mil-ford Wednesday evening this week to take charge as manager of the former for-mer McAllister barber shop. Mr. Starr comes to us highly recommended recom-mended In his profession as a hnr-ber. Mrs. Annie G. Carmon of Salt Lake w'ho .has been spending some time with her daughter Mrs. William Mun-ford, Mun-ford, returned to her home last Monday Mon-day evening. L. D. Brooks of- the Milford Pharmacy, who has been- spending soem little time in Long Beach Cal. is expected home this week. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Bird are rejoy-cing rejoy-cing over the arrival of a little song Bird that came to their home Saturday, Sat-urday, March, first. Mrs. Pv J Adams, daughter Fern and daughter-in-Jaw Mrs. George Harris left Saturday for a few weeks stay in Sunny California. T. F. Gleeson is laying off on account ac-count safety first meeting to be held in Milford Wednesday, March 5th. Brakeman O'Rourke is laying off for the same purpose. The Eastern Star ladies will hold a farewell reception at their lodge rodm Saturday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Ingols, who are to leave soon for their northern home. All Eastern Stars and Masons and their ladies are invited. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders of Jefferson Mercantile Co., will move Monday into in-to the Ingols cottage. We are glad to know that they are going to begin be-gin housekeeping, for we want them to stay in Milford and welcome them to their new home. Dr. F. J. Alexander the optician, was in our city last Saturday, but was unable to remain longer on account ac-count of illness. j Mr. Charles Beard and little chil-, chil-, dren are staying with his sister, Mrs. John Killam, who is looking after and careing for the children since the sad death of their dear mother. I. Cline was confined to his home a few days last week with a hard cold. We are glad to see him out again thi week. Frank McCarty who shot special officer Hedges in the hand some few weeks ago, was sentenced in the j courts at Beaver City to the state prision for a term of from one to , twenty years. He was charged with ! assault with deadly weapon with intent in-tent to kill. Miss Eleanor Simms is illwith a severe cold in Salt Lake; and her nephew H. A. Sims has come down to take charge of the Utah Theater during her absencs. We hope Miss Simms will soon be able to be back onher job. ' "" '! A dancing party was given at the home of Mrs. Clark Kesseler Saturday Satur-day February 22. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. George Fern-j Fern-j ley. George Ransom, Clark Kessler 1 Scot Tanner, Chas. Bixler. After dancing and playing cards a delightful delight-ful luncheon was served. |
