Show Mli.I OKU W.Ul MOTHER'S MEET 'Milford War Mothers met on February Feb-ruary 27, 1919 in the Utah Theatre and the following program was rendered ren-dered : Musical Selection Miss Vera White. Roll Call Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. An interesting talk was made by Mr. C. C. Sloan. He talked of the love of mothers for their children, and the sacrifices "they were willing . to make for them and for their coun try. He considered mother the most hallowed name on earth. 1 Letter was read from Mrs. W. White, tendering her resignation on the executive board, j A motion was made that Mrs. Carlton should be made historian. Motion was seconded and Mrs. Carlton Carl-ton was appointed as historian. Mrs. Christie was nominated as a member of the executive board. Mrs. Dan Smithson then read a poem of her own composition, f Mr. Hyrend gave an interesting '. talk on the war mothers of today, and endorsed all that Mr. Sloan had said, spoke of the efforts of the mothers in aiding to run the war 1 both in sacrificing their sons and the work they were doing in -the type of Liberty bonds. The high school class then put on the play entitled "Freedom for all. for ever. A piano selection by Miss Vera White. A reading by Mrs. Laraul Burns the Blue and the Grey. Mr. Sloan then gave a talk on the ; peace conference, and a motion was t made to pen a resolution to he sent to Senators Reed Smoot and King. ! A committee was appointed and a resolution drawn up to 'read before the minutes and was unanimouslq sustained, the meeting was then adjourned ad-journed until the last Thursday in March. |
