Business Men Are Being Urged to Suspend as the Only Means of Successfully Combating the Industrial Unrest. Berlin. Central Germany is in the throes of a widespread political strike affecting large parts of Saxony, Tliuringia Tliur-ingia and Anlialt, and, through its effect ef-fect upon railroad communication, is casting a sinister shadow over the entire en-tire nation. Business and professional men in several German towns have been urged to meet the strike of the working classes by going on strike themselves. The workmen in Leipzig voted by a-tremendous a-tremendous majority for a general strike. Leipzig is without gas or electricity elec-tricity or railroad communication. The strike at Halle, which includes the railway men, continues absolute, and even telephonic and telegraphic communication com-munication is being interferred with. A general strike has broken out at Erfurt and in many other cities in central cen-tral Germany. German government troops have occupied oc-cupied the town of Haroborn, in the Ruhr industrial region, after a fight in which a number of Spartacans were killed. Rioting broke out anew in Munich, according to the correspondent there of the Tolitiken. Three thousand Spartacan soldiers .marched to the parliament building in an effort to force the diet to proclaim a soviet republic re-public in Bavaria. |
