Show COAL PRICES ARE FIXED. Maximum Prices Prevailing Last Sum. mer Are Restored. Washington. An executive order fixing maximum prices for bituminous bitumin-ous coal was signed October 31 by President Wilson. Prices of anthracite anthra-cite are not affected. The maximum prices restored by the order are approximately those prevailing prevail-ing during the summer and until recent re-cent rises owing to the threatened strike. There is no material reduction from the present prices, officials of the geological survey said. The object of the order was to prevent profiteering profiteer-ing or increase. Maximum prices are fixed by states, and for prepared sizes range from $4.60 a net ton at mine mouth to $2.00. |
