Show DOUBLE BARRED CROSS ADOPTED 17 TEARS AGO The double barred Red Cross Is seventeen years old this month. In October, 1902, the International Anti-Tuberculosis Anti-Tuberculosis Association, then meeting in Berlin, adopted the cross as the emblem of the world-wide tight againsi tuberculosis. It was proposed by Dr. G. Sersiron, of Paris. It is a combination com-bination of the Croix de Lorraine and the cross of the Greek Catholic church. Both crosses are symbolic of charity and help to humanity. Their combined features were selected nnil adopied as the symbol of the hiipe or civilization. Four years later, in 1D0G the double barred Red Cross was carried car-ried into this country. It was iu 1906-the 1906-the National Tuberculosis Association was formed, and for the three inter veiling years the cross has been car ried over the United States by tin National Tuberculosis Association and its affiliated bodies, which now number num-ber one thousand.
