Show THE CALL OF THE SEA The sea the lonely murmuring sea Calling sadly ever to me. For one of my boys (where the warm wave leaps From its hiding place in the tractless deeps) Has answered his country's call, And I far away where the Desert sleeps, Have the long, cold night towatch and to weep And to pray that he may not fall But return to me when the morn is young And aflush with the music of birds' new sung. The sea the stormy, surging sea! Calling loudly ever to me, For another lad (by the North-land cold Where the breakers daBh on the frozen wold) Has answered his county's call, And I where the sands are white and deep Have the long, cold night to watch and weep And to pray that he may not fall But return to, me when the stars are dim And I am yearning for sight of him.
