Show NO COMPROMISE WATER CASE BACK IN COURT The case of the Beaver Bot- toms settlers vs. the Beaver County Irrigation Company was adjourned two days this week to permit of a conference be- tween the parties at law over the contested water rights. Sev- eral sessions were held in the " offices of the Irrigation Com- pany and the points of either side were quite fully discussed. We are informed that the com- pany concedes that certain owners of land are entitled to some water. The settlers, we are informed, ask that they be guaranteed three acre-feet of water for 2,000 acres of land each season. The company seems willing to furnish 1 acre-feet for a certain number of acres. The settlers also want the dam recently con- -structed by the company in Beaver Bottoms. As the contending parties could not arrive at an agree- ment in the time to which the adjournment was taken, the case was taken back to court at Beaver Thursday morning. The probabilities are that no com- promise can be reached at pres- ent. The case will doubtless O occupy the entire time of this session of court and will then go over to the next session. which will be held in May. |
