Show o Doctors C. M. and Eva Kennedy Ken-nedy and daughter, Dora Lee, of Camden, Indiana, arrived in Milford Mil-ford Thusday for a visit with their cousin, W. F. Cottrell and family, leaving Saturday morning for Boulder dam and Long Beach. After nearly fifteen years management man-agement of the Forgie apartments, apart-ments, Mr. and Mrs. James Lang are this week preparng to move to their cozy new home on upper Sixth avenue, with Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Schow assuming the management man-agement of the apartments. Dr. S. H. Worthen of Salt Lake, who has been taking- care of the practice of Dr. R. R. Shannon during dur-ing the latter's absence on vacation, vaca-tion, informs The News that he is contemplating opening up an office of-fice in Beaver, being quite impressed im-pressed with the possibilities there. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clay and daughters, Carolyn and Corrinne, motored to Fillmore Thursday of last week, from which place Mrs. Clay and Miss Carolyn joined the former's brother and wife on their return to their home in Huntington Hunting-ton Park, California, where they will make an extended visit. Mrs. Frank Kuchenmiester was hostess Monday night to her bridge club with the following present: Mesdames William Cochrane, Coch-rane, Gene Kirk, John Williams, Fred Levi, George Rogers, J. M. Hughes, J. C. Smith, D. S. Williams Wil-liams and A. Fotheringham. High score prize was won by Mr. John Williams and consolation prize given Mrs. Kuchenmiester. The following party motored to Beaver canyon Friday evening of last week for a picnic supper: Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Casterline and children, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cottrell Cot-trell and son Ross, and Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell and guests, the Doctors C. M. and Eva Kennedy Ken-nedy and daughter Dora Lee, Mrs. Joseph Tribole, Bill and Hazel Tribole and Mrs. G. R. Wicox. Mrs. Thomas Campbell was down from Salt Lake this week, making final preparations for moving to the city, where they will make their home for the coming com-ing year, according to Mrs. Campbell. Camp-bell. Louise has been employed as first grade teacher in the local school for several years and has made a real reputation for herself as a teacher of beginner studentis. Mrs. Gertrude Dewey, winner of The News Scholarship Campaign Cam-paign contest, was the honor guest at a party given Wednesday nighe a't the Milford hotel by officials of-ficials of the Lincoln mining company, com-pany, who, with other local friends, wish her well in taking up the business course at the L. D. S. business college to which she is entitled as winner of the contest. Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd F. Kohler returned Tuesday night from a vacation va-cation trip which included a visit to the fair at San Diego, a jaunt into Old Mexico and attendance at the dental convention held at Long Beach. Leaving here the day after Dr. and Mrs. R. R. Shannon, they spent five days in Long Beach with the Shannons, who are returning re-turning in a more leisurely way by way of northern California. With the turning of the D. A. Baxter corner on the bencli Sunday Sun-day afternoon by the Doug Fotheringham Foth-eringham truck, Harry Martin, who was sitting on the side, failed to make any turn but one headforemost head-foremost into the gravel of the road. As a result he was taken to the Hubbell apartments unconscious uncon-scious and remained in that condition condi-tion for more than a day, finally reacting to treatment bv Dr. J. J. Weir. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Eckman and Caleb Davidian, who have been conducting the Bible Chautauqua Chau-tauqua lecture series in behalf of the Seventh Day Adventist faith, ; have returned from a state con-iference con-iference conducted in Salt Lake i last week. Sabbath school and ' pl eaching services will continue to be held at the Firemen's hall ail summer, with the probability jthat the evangelical series will be re tuned this fall. I Mrs. Vena H. Wilson returned Sumiav from a trip to Iowa on which she was accompanied by her sister, Miss Sophronia Hawley, of Los Angeles, who is visiting here with Mrs. Wilson before continuing continu-ing her way homeward. The trip to and from Ogden was made by train but from that point the trip of 33(i2 miles to and from the east was made by motor in company com-pany with their nephew and wife of Twin Falls, Idaho. o |
