Show u Minersville Scouts Doing Fine Work Minersville Troop No. 326, Boy Scouts of America has made rapid strides during the past year under un-der the capable leadership of Scoutmaster Garland Hollings-head. Hollings-head. At present there are 27 registered regis-tered Scouts in the troop, with the following fiye boys of first class rank: Royle Woods, Jimmy Sherwood, Sher-wood, Bert Craw, Neil Rhenstrom, and Jay Banks. There are four second class Scouts and the remainder re-mainder are of tenderfoot rank. The troop went on a weeks outing out-ing to Duck Creek recreational camp in June. Twenty-three of our Scouts and the Scoutmaster! made the trip and while in campj four of our group were advanced at a camp court of honor. At pres-J ent plans are underway for a trip to Kents lake in the near future. The troop committee in Miners-, ville is fully organized with C. K.i Jameson as chairman and T. V. Rollins, Bishop George Marshall, I P. S. Worthen and Oliver Graff as j members, and some support has j been given to the troop. Most of the credit for the present standing stand-ing of the troop in due to Scoutmaster Scout-master Hollingshead, however. Mr. Hollingshead is a member of the local teaching staff. He graduated from the B. A. C. in 1934 and has been very diligent I in the performance of his duties, 'Besides spending hours of time with the hoys. It can safely be said that more activity has been shown in Scouting during the past year than ever before in the history his-tory of Scouting in Minersville .and almost entirely due to Mr. ' Hollingshead's leadrihip. |
