Show Committee Named For Annual Meet Of qivic Clubs With the announcement by Lion L. A. Wynaught that Saturday, March 28, had been decided on as the date for the annual meeting at Milford of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah, plans for entertainment of the large crowd which always comes to Milford for this occasion, were placed underway un-derway Wednesday noon at the regular meeting of the local Lions club, which brought out one of the largest attendances in several sev-eral weeks. Lion Vice-President J. C. Root, occupying the chair in the absence of President La Mar Outzen, appointed Lions George Jefferson, L. A. Wynaught and David S.Williams as the executive committee in charge of arrangements, arrange-ments, with sub-committees to be appointed as needed. The matter of the proposed county hospital at Beaver came up for discussion, a petition for Milford signers having been circulated cir-culated Tuesday afternoon by members of the Beaver Chamber of Commerce. With virtually all of the 17 members of the club present called on for expressions there was nothing but opposition voiced. It was brought out that such an institution, despite government gov-ernment help in the initial cost, would boost the county tax levy from I to 2' -2 mills, would work to the irreparable injury of our own hospital and would benefit Milford very little if at all. Lion R. X. Mcintosh of Fillmore and L. C. Koch, department of grazing superintendent of the Milford Mil-ford C C C camp, were present as guests and spoke briefly. |
