Show Boy Scouts Stage "Amateur Hour" The Major Martin's Amateur' Hour sponsored by the Miford Boy Scouts last Saturday night in the high school auditorium was a I big success in every respect and a large crowd was in attendance. A large number of amateurs both young and old, appeared on the program, which consisted of a variety of dancing, reading and musical numbers, including a Scout band which was conducted entirely by the Scouts. Each contestant performed his act so well that several votes had to be taken before the judges were I able to decide on the winners. The: first prize was awarded to three I year old Anna McCulley, second ! to lone Sedgwick, and the third prize to Norman Fisher. j The committee in charge appreciated ap-preciated the interest and coopera-j tion' given them by the contestants contest-ants and the community in mak-' ing this amateur program a successful suc-cessful event. The troop committee is to be complimented on the interest they have taken in the Scout movement and the fine work they are doing to promote this worthy cause in getting the boys in this community commun-ity actively engaged in Scouting. |
