Show Runs Amuck With Knife Rommie Leroy Graham, 22, C C C enrollee from Burkesville, Ky., was bound over to action of the district court Monday when he appeared ap-peared before Justice Herbert I Nichols on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was fixed at $2500 and, not being furnished, fur-nished, the young man was rte-mended rte-mended to the custody of Sheriff Niels Jensen, pending the next session of district court. The charge is the outgrowth ot a knife cut back of the ear sustained sus-tained by Deputy Marshal Charles Baxter, when the latter, cooperating cooperat-ing with Marshal Roy White sr. undertook to search Graham, known to campmates as "Snake", and another unidentified enrollee, for weapons. The search was undertaken un-dertaken near the Why-Not Service Ser-vice station and the one young man readily gave up his knife but Graham whirled with his knife open or partly open and caught the officer back of the ear, making mak-ing his escape temporarily until found across the tracks. George Lutrell, itinerant miner giving his address as Flint, Michigan, Michi-gan, was also arrested as a result of alleged inflammatory activities later that night. He too pleaded guilty at a hearing held on Tues-; Tues-; day but was released on his I solemn pledge of good behavior. A |
