Show SB n, A Dr. unci Mrs. L. F. Kohler and children, Madelyn and Ned, spent lust week-end in Salt Lake City. Mr. ami Mrs. Gene Kirk motored motor-ed Saturday to Salt Lake City, where Mrs. Kirk remained for a couple of weeks to receive medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hughes and lamily left Wednesday evening for Salt Lake City and Farmington, having been called upstate on account ac-count of the death of an aunt of Mr. Hughes. Mrs. L. G. Clay sperut the weekend week-end in Fillmore, visiting her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jd'hn Carling, and also her sister Ann of Los Angeles, who is visiting in Fillmore Fill-more a couple of weeks. The program is one of a series be. ing given in the three larger communities of the county. Mrs. J. P. Holm entertained members of her sewing club Thursday afternoon of last week. Delicious refreshments were served serv-ed to the following guests: Mrs. W. P. Frazier, Mrs. Qene Pitch-forth, Pitch-forth, Mrs. Nolen Openshaw, Mrs. Vern Patterson, Mrs. William Baker, Mrs. Joseph Tribole, Mrs. William Morrig and Mrs. W. Bj Sturdevant. The Milford high school band concert, given Thursday evening of last week in the high school auditorium, audi-torium, was meritorious in every respect and thoroughly enjoyed by a large and appreciative crowd of Milford people. Director Fred N. Webb and his young musicians are to be complimented highly on the fine work being done this year in this department . : 1 jii : Mrs. J. P. Holm entetained members of the Bridadier club and guests Friday of last week. Prizes at bridge were won by Mrs. William Morris for high points and Mrs. Vern Shingleton for hiyh honors, while Mrs. Ross Baxter received the consolation prize and Mrs. Dan James the guest prize. Others present were Mrs. Loran Bishop and and Mrs. 0. R. Smith. Members of the Saturday afternoon after-noon Bridge club were entertained at the home of Mrs. Loran Bishop April 10. Those present were Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. J. M. Williams, Mrs. William Cochrane, Coch-rane, Mrs. J. E. Wilson, Mrs. Rudolph Ru-dolph Nielsen, Mrs. Myron Lewis and Mrs. George Moore. Those receiving the prizes at bridge were Mrs. Cochrane, Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Lewis. Mrs. Lloyd Lee was hostess to members of the Big Four Bridge club at her home Wednesday, evening. eve-ning. Those receiving various prizes were Mrs. Fay Bradfield for high points and Mrs. Grover Cuddy for high honors, while Mrs. Harry Garfield received the consolation con-solation prize. Others present were Mrs. Ronald Banks, Mrs. J. E. Moore, Mrs. Vern Shingleton, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. Robert Price and Mrs. J. P. Holm. Lynn Roberts and son Jack of Minersville are doing some intensive in-tensive development work on properties prop-erties in the Moscow mining district dis-trict owned by Hansen Evesmith of Fargo, North Dakota. The Roberts brothers all worked for Mr. Evesmith prior to being called into the armed services, and they found him to be an honest and straightforward man to deal with and owner of a potentially big mine. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Norton and two little daughters, Renee and Jean, left Sunday for their home at Grass Range, Montana, where Mr. Norton is connected with the United States Soil Conservation service. Mrs. Norton and little Miss Renee had been here for some time, visiting at the home of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith. Baby Jean is only some four weeks old and will be making her first acquaintance with the wide open spaces of Montana. tr |
