Show Mac Arthur Day ; Tea Much Enjoyed i : The 1942 observance of Flag day ; in Milford was one to be long remembered re-membered by mothers of local : boys who are in the United States armed services. The American Le-i Le-i gion Auxiliary, under the direc. ,tion of the national defense and i Americanization committee, chose I that day to honor' the loyal mo-Ithers mo-Ithers on the "home front," and the I event was a success from every ! standpoint. The tea and program was held in the Milford L. D. S. Relief Society So-ciety rooms and was attended Iv 75 mothers and other guests. In the receiving line were officers of the local Auxiliary, including Mrs. Nina Bingham, president; Mrs. Mary Nichols, first vice-president; and Mrs. Dolly Bishop, second vice-president. Mrs. Lila Weber and Mrs. Marie j Lewis poured . at the beautifully j arranged tea table, being assisted by Misses Beverly Weston, Anna' I Marie Oqtzen and Carlie Wad-jdoups. Wad-jdoups. Mrs. Nichols, activity i chairman, had charge of the tea, I with the following women assist-mg: assist-mg: Mrs. Erma Cline, Mrs. Carlie iWaddoups, Mrs. Berniece Smith, ! Mrs. Naomi Hughes, Mrs. Edith ' Grimshaw, Mrs. Metta Weston, and Mrs. Mary Williams. Mrs. Ethel Nielsen, chairman of the na. tional defense committee, was in charge of the decorations. Mrs. Leonard Bowen, Americanism American-ism chairman, arranged and conducted con-ducted the following program Solo, "Land of the Free," Mrs. Mary Williams, accompanied by Mrs. P. B. Fisher. Vocal duet, Mrs. Emma Griffith and Mrs. Luella Fisher, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Fisher. Violin solo, Lehora Bowen, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Fisher.
