F. j W., held last Tuesday at the I. O. j O. F. hall with President Dora ; "mithson presiding, the following delegates were elected: Chairman, Mrs. Magdalena White; Mrs. Mar-?3rpt Mar-?3rpt Murdock and Mrs. Violet Jefferson. Alternates: Mrs. Ruth Leany, Mrs. Norma Walters and Mrs. Cora Jones. Mrs. Lois Wad-dingham, Wad-dingham, Mrs. Ethel Smith and Mrs. Dora Smithson, due to their department offices, are entitled to vote. President Smithson appointed as her standing committees the following fol-lowing ladies: Mrs. Susan Murdoch ways and means; Mrs. Cora Jones; Nina Bingham, Americanism; Mag-dalena Mag-dalena White, welfare; Florence Barnes, rehabilitation; Hanna Smith, hospital; Virginia U'Ren, war service; Ethel Smith, home fund, and Ethel Smith, reporter. CHEOUTFORFTJN CHOSEN AS FOl'R-H NAME The "Cheoutforfun" Four-H club met at the home of Mrs. Gerald Schow on Wednesday afternoon to organize the club activities and elect officers. Utahna Hardy -was named president, presi-dent, Barbara Fotheringham, vice president; Roma Jean Myers, secretary; sec-retary; Norma Reese, treasurer; Granetta Whitbeck, reporter; Ruby Wadsworth, song and cheer leader, and Bonnie Baxter, organist. organ-ist. Mrs. Eloise Schow is teacher of the group. PATRICIA PITCHFORTH AWARDED CAP AND CAPE Mr. and Mrs. Pitchforth vacationed vaca-tioned in Salt Lake City the past week, and attended the capping exercises at the Holy Cross Hospital Hos-pital where their daughter, Patricia, Patri-cia, after taking the Florence Nightingale pledge, was presented a nurses cap and cape jn beautiful, beauti-ful, solemn exercises in the hospital hos-pital auditorium. Patricia, a 1944 graduate of Mil-ford Mil-ford High School, has completed one year of nurse training. O. E. S. ENTERTAINS GRAND OFFICERS Ruth Chapter No. 6, Order of Eastern Star, entertained the Grand Officers on May 7 with a delicious banquet served by the Dorcas Society of the Methodist church. ' There were 45 members and guests present. The decorations decora-tions were tulips, iris and bridal wreath, with charming, hand-painted hand-painted place cards in butterfly designs. After the banquet a regular business bus-iness session was held in the Masonic Ma-sonic Lodge hall. Some clever and impressive ceremonies were given, ?.nd other interesting affairs were enjoyed. The Worthy Grand Matron. Ma-tron. Abbe M. Schraga, and her associate grand officers were honored hon-ored guests. Her Grand Family included Worthy Grand Patron Robert M. Oldroyd, Associate Grand Matron Margaret Rohn ; Grand Conductress Dicia Waters; Grand Adah Maude Olsen; Grand Martha Estella M. Oldroyd, and Grand Sentinel B. W. Deason. Other visitors included Mrs. Mildred Mil-dred Stockman of the General Grand Chapter and members from Mount Pleasant,. Richfield, Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Miss (Eldora Tarr from Mackay, Idaho, and Mrs. Lemmah Boucher of Moberly, Missouri. -t i . KATHLEEN VOGT IS FIVE YEARS OLD Nine little friehds of Kathleen Vogt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Vogt, gathered at her home on Wednesday afternoon to help her celebrate her fifth birth anniversary. anniver-sary. " Games were played during the afternoon, and many lovely gifts were received by the young lady. A big birthday cake was cut, and refreshments served to Alice Klick, Donna Blackstock, Janice Bird, Julie Ann McWhorter, Kaye Grib-ble, Grib-ble, Florine Griffith, Linda Easton, Barbara Thompson and Shanna Thompson. LEGION AUXILIARY POSTPONES MEETING The American Legion Auxiliary has postponed their regular meeting, meet-ing, scheduled for Monday, May 20. Initiation and business meeting will be held in the newly-decorated hall on Monday, May 27. riow C. Limb phoned his mother in Milford from Pearl Harbor this week, to tell her he is well, and has volunteered for duty with the atom bomb fleet. How will see at close range the results of the atom bomb test. ' SHEARING COMPLETED Shearing of sheep In the Milford area has been completed for this season, according to William Morris, Mor-ris, whose crew snipped the fleece from 10,000 head in the Milford shearing corral. About 5500 sheep were clipped at Minersville by Jimmy Robinson and Frank. Williams, Mr. Morris said. ' Making up the crew at the Milford Mil-ford corral were Vic Showalters, Bums Tebbs.i Bill Tebbs, Stan Tebbs, Blaine -Seavy, the Seavy brothers, and Scott Haycock. |
