Show GROUP CHECKS DEER RANGE Previous reports that the Mineral range, east of Milford, is overpop-ulated overpop-ulated with deer and the range over-grazed, are greatly exaggerated, exagger-ated, according to a group of Milford Mil-ford Wildlife Protective Ass'n. members who have just completed a check of that area. Vance Fisher, president of the wildlife group, along with L. B. Eldridge, Hal Fisher, Roldo Turner Tur-ner and Dick Benton, members; Forest Ranger H. M. Christensen and Game Warden Othello Riley, recently spent a day riding the heights and foothills searching out the fawns, bucks and does, and report re-port seeing less than 100 in the day's trek. Browse and mahogany are in excellent condition, Mr. Fisher stated, with no signs of over-grazing. Cattle that "wintered "win-tered out" are in good shape, he said, with unusually thick grass two to three inches in height. |
