Mrs. Lloyd Kohler was hostess tc her bridge club at her home Tuesday evening with Mrs. K. B. Coon winning high points prize,1 Mrs. Frank White high honors prize and Mrs. Ray Mills consolation consola-tion prize. Others present were Mrs. A. A. Mclntyre, Mrs. Ross Palmer, Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw and Mrs. Faye Bradfield. Tuesday's storm, which was little more than a long gejtle rain so far as the Milford' vaJley was concerned, left other communities with snow coverings varying from an inch or so to 10 inches in Eureka, where virtually every tree in the community was stripped of its branches, and thousands of di liars of other damage done to utility lines and other property. Miss Helen Baker entertained a number of friends Friday evening at a chicken gump and corn roast. Those attending were Glenna Rollins, Rol-lins, Donna Williams, Doris Cor-bridge, Cor-bridge, Rose and Nola Sly, Elaine Baker, Dorothy Johansen, Lola Davis, Dorothy Nolan Kathleen Fotheringham, Marie Mastros, Gail Elmer, (Calvin Carter, Jack Kirk, Douglas Ryan, Harvey Voor-hees, Voor-hees, Leland Rogers, Bob O'Don-aid', O'Don-aid', Abe Griffiths, Gerald Schow and Ben Croff. Mrs. Lena Stoker and Gertrude Dewey were hostesses at a surprise sur-prise party given Monday night at the home of S. A. Zabriskie in honor of Mrs. Zabriskie's birthday. Those present were Helen Leech, Lillian Zabriskie, Thelma Caperon, Ireta Williams, Margaret Lyman, Helen McCaughy, Diane McCulley, Vearl Horton, Luella Fisher, Lena Stoker. Velma Patterson and iGert-rude iGert-rude Baxter. Bridge was enjoyed during the evening with Helen Leech winning the high score prize, Thelma Caperon consolation prize, and Ireta Williams the traveling prize. mrs. ituoy James entertained the Trainmen Ladies at the home of Mrs. Wanda Holm last Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Bridge was enjoyed by those present with high points prize being won by Mrs. LenaMor-ris, LenaMor-ris, high honors prize by Mrs. Threasa Pitchforth and consolation consola-tion prize by Mrs. Myrtle Mills. Mrs. Morris also received the traveling prize. Those present were Belle Palmer, Myrtle Mills, Florence Barnes, Edith Cummrngs, Ella Edwards, Lena Morris, Elma Voorhees, Geneve Price, Threasa Pitchforth, Agnes Kanert, Ann Lee and' Clara McFadden. Mrs. J. P. Holm entertained a group of ladies last Friday evening eve-ning with a lovely luncheon, after which bridge was played and a new club organized. The clulb will be called the Bridgadier's. Mrs. Tannis Strofeld was the winner of the high points prize, Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham the high honors priz.e and Mrs. Agnes Kanert consolation con-solation prize. Others present were Mrs. Lena. Morris, Mrs. Hazel Steeribock, Mrs. Ka'therine Shingleton, Mrs. Frances Jefferson Jeffer-son and the hostess. A lovely time was reported by all. The club will meet on alternate Friday nights, the next meeting to be at the home of Mrs. Frances Jefferson. |
