Show . o All-Time Record Set By Air Lines Setting an all-time record, scheduled sche-duled air lines in the United States carried 06,368 passengers during I May, and flew .10,097,155 passenger passen-ger miles, the bureau of air com-I com-I merce has announced. A passenger i mile is equivalent to one passen-! passen-! ger flown one mile. The highest passenger total for any previous month was 86,581 in August, 11(35. , The same month was the former l peak for passenger miles flown, with 35,732,204. Only the domestic air lines are ! included in the monthly report those operating within the borders of continental United States. The 20 companies so operating during May reported 483,798 pounds of express carried, and 255,623,294 express miles flown. Total miles I flown were 5,511,070. I Another record established in May was for percentage used of , passenger seats available. During I May 69 per cent of available seats were occupied.
