Show I Ag Teacher Back i From U. S. A. C. LaVell Parsons, vocational agri-; agri-; cultural teacher at Milford high ' school, has just completed the an-; an-; nual two weeks course at the sum-I sum-I mer session of the Utah State Ag- ricultural college at Logan. This period of training was in the na-; na-; ture of a conference of all the vocational vo-cational agricultural teachers and was under the direction of L. R. j Humpherys, state supervisor of ; agricultural education. At the same time the attending teachers I took regular credit courses. j This year the emphasis was upon the program of home and community com-munity beautif ication and improve- ment. Dr. A. L. Wilson and Professor Pro-fessor F. M. Coe of the Utah State college horticulture department, and Irvin T. Nelson, landscape gardener for the Granite school district dis-trict at Salt Ike City, assisted with the teaching of the agricultural agricul-tural men. Each student brought a special beautification problem from his local community which was analyzed. A series of field trips were taken, reviewing the landscaping of home and public grounds in Cache, Box Elder, Weber, Davis and Salt Lake coun- ties. As a result of this summer con-: con-: feience it is expected that this ; landscape project will be put into . operation very shortly in several of the counties of the state. Mr. Parsons also attended cours- es given by Dr. Noel Keys of the ' University of California and by other members of the education j staff of the college. |
