STOKER Beaver County Agent To acquaint them with the next steps to be taken in the carrying out of the soil conservation program, pro-gram, there was held at Beaver last week a district meeting of the permanent committeemen who have been elected by farmers of the respective counties and the county secretaries. County agents and permanent committeemen from Beaver, Iron, Washington, Kane, Garfield, Tiute, Sevier and Wayne counties were in attendance. LeRoy Funk, executive secretary; secre-tary; E. C. Shaffer, statistican; J. W. Gilman, member of the state committee; Mr. Olsen, assistant regional director of the forest service, ser-vice, and J. Arnold Kirkham, editor of the Utah Farmer, were in attendance at-tendance to inform those present as to working details of the program pro-gram with particular reference to the listing of work sheets on county coun-ty listing sheets. Tbese county listing sheets will be totaled and reviewed by the state committee and if the total soil depleting crops claimed in the county and all soil conservation crops claimed in the county are in line with census and agricultural statistics, of limit furnished fur-nished by the agricultural adjustment adjust-ment administration at Washington, Washing-ton, they will be approved. Some folks, because of the rush of farm work, have not filled out a work sheet of the agricultural conservation program. The closing-date closing-date of June 25 is extended to July 11 to enable all farmers who have not signed to do so if they wish. Anyone interested may contact Kld'on Cates, Milford; William Woods, Minersville, or call at the county agents office before July 11.
