Show Work Begins On 3-Mile Power Line To Quad Metals Construction of a three-mile power line to the Quad Metals mine, west of Milford, began Wednesday morning and a pump and other equipment for de-watering the property will be on the ground within a few days. The Quad Metals is a mine from which a great deal is expected by local people who assume to know the relative worth of mining prop-I prop-I erties in this section. The mine, at ' that time in the possession of the Snyder, interests, closed down about 15 years ago due to water encountered and to friction with the state mine inspector's office. Now operating as the Quad I Metals corporation, financed by j Chicago capital and with D. E j Kirk of Milford as manager, re-1 ! inforcing of the old shaft and other j work has been quietly underway j for the past two or three months J getting ready for installation of ; pumping equipment, j This work has been under the immediate superintendency of Parley Par-ley B. Fisher, who has done a re- markable job of it, according to ! reports emanating from the mine inspector's office; In this, however, Mr. Fisher has been ably assisted j i-y from seven to ten local men, all thoroughly experienced and excellent ex-cellent workers. Mr. Fisher is a former employe of the Moscow mine and, though he has done no mining for the last several years, ! his former experience and natural ' ability has made it possible for : him and his men to do a l-emark- abip job at the Qua.i Metris. |
