Show HARRY JEFFERSON GETS PROMOTION WHILE ON LEAVE Capt. Harry F. Jefferson of Milford Mil-ford was promoted to major while enjoying a four-month leave earned during nearly four years' overseas over-seas service in the Pacific war theater. the-ater. Major Jefferson joined the army in 1940, enlisting as a private, and came up through the ranks to earn his golden oakleaf. His battle service was in the Solomons, New Guinea, the Philippines and, later Japan. He wears five campaign stars in his Pacific theater ribbon. After spending a few days visiting visit-ing friends and relatives in Milford, Mil-ford, Major Jefferson left fo; Eureka to spend the remainder of his leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jefferson. |
