Show RAILROAD NEWS By MRS. G. L. GRIBBLE (Phone 164-J) The Lady Fireman held their social on January 18 in the I. O. O. F. hall. This month a pink and blue shower was given for Mrs. Norma Aagard. The committee was Mae Coburn, Fay Steele, Fay Thompson, Freda Smith and Gar-netta Gar-netta Hollis. First prize in bridge was won by Eva Banks, second by Marjorie Manion, and consolation by Ethel Smith. Norma Aagard won high in pinochle, Garnet Garfield Gar-field second, and Mary Nichols lov.''. The honoree received many lovely gifts. Walter Carlton has returned to work after being ill with flu for the past two weeks. . Alvaretta Goodwin entertained her bridge club Wednesday night. Those present were Marion Miller, Mable Westergaard, Mary McCulley, McCul-ley, Lois Brewer, Rae Anderson, Wilma Weston, Helen Brocker and Ramona Jones. High prize was won by Mary McCulley, traveling prize by Mable Westergaard, and consolation by Lois Brewer. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Carpita are leaving for Salt Lake to spend a few days with Mr. Carpita's parents. par-ents. Mrs. Phylis Workman was hostess host-ess to her bridge club this week. Those present were Lillian Mellor, Morba Brown, Marjorie Schram, Wilma Weston, Edith Cummings, Ina Norton, Audrey Russey and a guest, Phyllis Ketch. Marjorie Schram won high prize, Morba Brown second, and Wilma Weston, consolation. Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth Sr. entertained enter-tained her sewing club Thursday afternoon. A group of friends of Buby James gave her a surprise birthday party , Wednesday evening. The guests , brought lunch items and a gift. ' Those present were Jane Firmage, Carol Stewart, Lillian Mellor, Marjorie Mar-jorie Schram, Billie Stocker, June 1 Thompson and Mary Gribble. High prize in pinochle was won by Marjorie Schram, and low by June Thompson. |
