Show Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Pool were Salt Lake visitors over the weekend. week-end. Mrs. Frank B. White is visiting Rer parents In Spanish Fork this week. Mr. Hazel L. Theisen left the first of the week for Caliente, Nevada. Mrs. Vena Wilson returned home last Thursday from a visit of several weeks in Los Angeles. Miss Rosetta Koch returned to Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wednesday Wed-nesday after visiting a few day with home folks. She was enroute from a stay of several weeks stay in Santa Barbara, California. Miss Sarah Pool entertained hef bridge club at her home last Thursday night with the Misses Norma White, Beth Coleman, Lois Williams, Margaret Cochrane, Ina Smith, Mary Banks and Mildred Killam present. Miss Coleman won the high score prize and Miss Williams Wil-liams tho consolation prize. Mrs. J. J. Keough and daughter Madeleine left Saturday for Salt Ijike City, where Madeleine will resume her school work after a visit in Milford. Mrs. 0. A. Moleher and daughter daugh-ter Betty, former residents of Milford, Mil-ford, left for their home in Salt Lake last Friday after several days visit here. Miss Katherine Kirk returned home Wednesday from Bellflower, California, where she visited the past three weeks with her sister, Mrs. Bryant Roberts, Myles Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Davis, left Sunday for Long Beach, California, to spend the summer with his sister, Mrs. Jack Ashworth, and family. The first annual danoe given by the Auxiliary of the Milford Volunteer Fire department last Saturday attracted a large crowd and was reported successful in every way. Mrs. H. P. Calvert, accompanied by Mrs. D. A. Baxter, Mrs. J. M. Williams and Mrs. Willard Nichols, motored to Zion park Sunday, where they were among the hundreds hun-dreds that spent Easter at the park. Mrs. Roy Coleman returned home from Salt Lake City Saturday Satur-day after a six weeks stay. Mrs. Coleman has been under a doctor's care while there and her many friends will be glad to know that she is much improved in health. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Helen Pryor, daughter of Mrs. I. N. Nolder of Miners ville, to Reed Petty of Cedar City, son of Dr. and Mrs. Frank H. Petty. The marriage took place Sunday afternoon at four o'clock in the Las Vegas L. D. S. church with Bishop Brinley officiating. offi-ciating. The couple left immediately immedi-ately for Los Angeles, where Mr. Petty will continue his studies at the University of Southern California. Cali-fornia. Cedar City Record. The weather of the past few days has been more of an August warmth than that of early spring. And how things are growing! Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Murdock Mur-dock and son Joe and Mr. and Mrs. David S. Williams and daughter Lois motored to Zion park Sunday afternoon in the Williams car. At Cedar they were joined for the afternoon by Miss La Vane Mathe-son, Mathe-son, one of Lois' college friends. Though not in full running order, the Lone Star restaurant this week opened for business in the store building just vacated by the state liquor store. The latter establishment was moved to a further fur-ther south location in the J. S. Hanks block -a couple of weeks ago under the direction of V. Wad-doups, Wad-doups, local manager. The Pierian club met at the home of Mrs. J. R. Murdock sr. Monday night with the time being spent reading and discussing current cur-rent articles. After the meeting the hostess served a dainty lunch to Mesdames L. G. Clay, J. L. Low, Roy White sr., I. L. Kelly, O. C. Kock, Ed Bardsley and Vena E. Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Larson of Cokeville, Wyoming, and daughter Pauline of Salt Lake were overnight over-night guests of the David S. Williams Wil-liams family Monday on their return re-turn from Boulder dam. Mr. Larson Lar-son is a prominent merchant, of southwestern Wyoming. Miss Pauline, Pau-line, the daughter, is attending the L. D. S. Business college in Salt Lake. Mrs. J. T. Fitzgerald was hostess host-ess to the Friday night club at the Milford hotel last Friday night. Contract bridge was played during the evening with Mrs. George Moore winning high points prize, Mrs. Jack Weston high honors prize, Mrs. D. S. Williams, guest prize and Mrs. Gene Kirk consolation consola-tion prize. Those present were Mesdames Myron Lewis, J. R. Murdock, George Rogers, Gene Kirk, E. L. Smith, George Moore, Jack Weston, Ed Peterson and D. S. Williams. Mrs. Harry Garfield entertained a number of friends last Saturday night with playing of "500" as the diversion of the evening. Lunch was served at midnight. Those enjoying en-joying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Barney Fotheringham, Mr. and Mrs. William Ashworth, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Lyman, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hickman, Mrs. Mildred Coon and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Garfield. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Glenn - left for California Thursday morning to visit with relatives and friends for a couple of weeks. o |
