Show LOCALS Two carloads of Ford cars, in various models, were unloaded during the past week by employes of the P. P. 0. O. garage, Ford agents Mrs. Otto Melcher entertained the Big Four Bridge club and guests at her home Wednesday night. Mrs. J. T. Fritzgerald received re-ceived the guest prize The M. E. church is undergoing a real housecleaning this week so there will be no Sunday school on March 10, but will resume again March 17, at 10:00 a.m. Miss Dolly Jefferson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jefferson, left Saturday for her home in Nevada City, California, after visiting since the holidays with local relatives and friends. The G. I. A. Ladies club were guests of Mrs. L. B. Waddingham at her home Monday evening. Bridge was played with Mrs. Art Connell receiving the prize for high points, Mrs. Jim Holms high honors prize and Mrs. Otto Steenbock Steen-bock the house prize. Reed Pulver, C C C enrollee for the past seven months, was a caller at The News office Monday on his way from the desert range camp to his home in Payson, where he will reenter high school for the final quarter, thus completing com-pleting his senior year. Returning Sunday from a weeks training at the U. S. A. C. at Logan Lo-gan were the following supervisors of 4-H work for Beaver county: Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen of Milford, home science; Harry Smurthwaite of Milford, forestry; Le Los Baker of Minersville, corn and crops; and Mrs. Reed Smith, Beaver, clothing. They were accompanied to the college by County Agent Lew Mar Price. As announced in the display ad appearing elsewhere in The News, Friday, March 15, has been selected se-lected as the date for the big annual an-nual St. Patrick's .day dance given by the 0. W. Kara lodge of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen Fire-men and Enginemen. The Jolly Dozen club met at the home of Mrs. Francis Hollis Thursday evening, February 28, The evening was spent sewing, all members except Ruby Davidson ana Lizzy Gressmen being present. Mrs. Davidson being very ill. At 10:30 o'clock all sat down to a "tramp" supper of mulligan stew and coffee, served in regular camp-fire camp-fire style with the kettle in the center of the table and all serving themselves and eating from tin cups and tin plates. All had a pleasant time and will meet at the home of Hazel Kessler on March 14. o |
