Show Mrs I. L. Kelly To Represent Chapter The Milford chapter of the Red Cross will be represented at the Red Cross Chapter Workers' institute in-stitute which will be held at the Temple Square hotel, Salt Lake City, March 11-15. Mrs. I. L. Kelley will represent the' local chapter. During the week the school for chapter workers will stress instruction in-struction in family case work for disaster relief, home service to veterans and unemployment relief re-lief programs. Emphasis also will be placed on disaster preparedness, claims work for veterans, special volunteer service, such as the production of garments, hospital bandages, emergency closets with sick-room supplies and the brailling of books for the blind. First aid and life-saving, junior Red Cross, chapter organization and chapter administration also will receive attention at the forthcoming forth-coming sessions. Red Cross nursing nurs-ing service, public health nursing and home hygiene and care of the sick were subjects of a Red Cross round table held in Salt Lake City recently. The faculty at the chapter workers' work-ers' institute will be headed by A. L. Schafer, Red Cross manager in the Pacific area. Mr. Schafer was formerly national director of disaster dis-aster relief. Other instructors for the Salt Lake institute are Mrs. Edith Mc-Alli-ter, expert case work supervisor super-visor in disaster relief projects; Miss Alice Case, chapter correspondent corres-pondent in the Pacific branch office, of-fice, San Francisco; Mrs. Mabel Axline, Utah field representative for the Red Cross; Harold Terwil-liger, Terwil-liger, first aid and life-saving field representative, and Ray Alston, liaison representative with the Veterans' administration, Salt j Lake City. |
