Show "M" Men Team Making Showing The Milford ward "M" men basketball team, defeating Summit, Sum-mit, Delta and St. George teams, champions of the various stake and inter-stake divisions of southwestern south-western Utah, won the right to enter the all-church tournament now under way in Salt Lake and at which there are two teams from California, two from Idaho, one from Canada, one from Wyoming and one from Arizona, besides , several teams from Utah all made up of "M" men athletes from the various sections. The privilege privi-lege of trying for the right to go upstate came to Milford a bit unexpectedly. un-expectedly. Tuesday afternoon the local fellows fel-lows left for, Salt Lake by automobile, automo-bile, tired and more or less stale from the hard games and long ! trips necessary to decide the section sec-tion championship. Included in the group making the trip were j Claude Horton and Zealand Murdock, Mur-dock, forwards; Carl Murdock and Robert Killam, centers; and Lawrence Law-rence Webb, Lawrence Easton and 'Clyde Griffiths, guards. Tommie j James also went along as scorer. Matched with the strong Mar-I Mar-I riott (Weber county) team at 7 'o'clock Wednesday evening, the ! Milford fellows were defeated by !a score of 2K-17 but fared better in the consolation bracket contest this (Thursday) afternoon, when they defeated the Santa Ana, California, Cali-fornia, quintet by a decisive score of 46-33. |
