Show VFW Auxiliary Installs Officers Incoming officers of Escalante Auxiliary 1546, Veterans of Foreign For-eign Wars, entertained the outgoing out-going officers and members with a delicious covered dish supper Tues- i day evening in the L. D. S. Relief society room, Mrs. Margaret Mur- j dock, newly elected president of the Auxiliary, acting as chairman. Forty members were present. After the supper the members went to the I. O. O. F. hall, where the regular meeting was held, Past Department President Lois WatL dingham presiding. Mrs. Minnie Gordon of Salt Lake City, department depart-ment president, was escorted, with the colors, to the stand and introduced intro-duced and spoke briefly. During the meeting four new members, Mrs. Bertha Cottrell, Mrs. Norma Walters, Mrs. Mary Cook and Mrs. Mildred Vernon, were initiated into the Auxiliary. The beautiful ser-j vice flag, presented to the Auxi-! liary two years ago by Mrs. Nona Decker, has been enlarged and j more stars were placed on it. j There now are close to 200 stars I on the flag. I 1 Mrs. Gordon also officiated in ; the installation of the following officers for the 1945-46 Auxiliary ' year: Elective President, Mar-' garet Murdock; senior vice presi- dent, Dora Smithson; junior vice: president, Cora Jones; treasurer, Susan Murdock; chaplain, Edna Williams; conductress; Margaret Grimshaw; guard, Mary Jane Edwards; Ed-wards; trustee, 3-year, Carlie Wad- j doups. Appointive secretary, Ber- neice Stewart; patriotic instructor, I Lois Waddingham; historian, Beryl j Dean; color bearers, Kelly Stew- j art, Verda Smith, Lena Morris and Maude Mills; musician, Myrtle Tri-bole. Tri-bole. ,! Mrs. Gordon, in the course of her , remarks, told of the new Auxiliary at Price and invited the members to attend the state encampment in Salt Lake City in June. Mrs. Decker, retiring treasurer, has f ill j ed that office in the local Auxiliary! for three and one-half years. V |
