The Pacific salmon are found from California to Alaska and as far west as Japan. Ja-pan. The salmon's life begins in the fresh water streams. When they are big enough to leave their homes they swim to the ocean. Here they stay for three to five years, then they ascend the rivers to spawn. On their way up they become very angry at each other and sometimes they fight to death., After the female spawns both the male and female die. It is at the mouth of the rivers that the salmon sal-mon are caught. Some people say that because the United States has built too many damsi all of the salmon will die off. Whether this is true or not we can't tell. Norman Nor-man Fisher. The Common Eel The common eel is two to three fee long. The eel runs down the streams to the ocean and spawns.
