The following: visitors . wore pwesenfc: C. C. Sloan, D. N. Hickman, Ed Peterson, Frank Stewart and D. I A. Baxter. Mrs. Dan W. Smithson, one of Milford's oldest residents, had ; passed away in Seattle, Washington, Washing-ton, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Douglas Mcintosh. Mrs. Smithson was gifted in many j ways, and one of her rare talents was composing poetry. Her poem, i "Boy of Mine", written during the i World war, received nation-wide recognition. M. Lesile, 73, who had made his home in Milford for 20 years, had passed away. Funeral services were held in the L. D. S. church by members cf the Christian Science church. I Mr. Foutz had moved the South Milford club house to its location on the Stanley farm. A number 1 of men had started to work on it, j putting the building together and improving the premises. They were Charles Ba.-sr, Harold Biax-! Biax-! ter, Pete Weidner jr., Bert Rvjs-jman, Rvjs-jman, W. C. Cates, C. G. Haskell, I Jake Weber, LeRoy Luken, How-! How-! ard Gospill, Abe Heslington and Kent Smith. Miss Maxine B. Bardsley had 1 been named to receive one of the Edward F. Krakt prizty awards. ; This prize was given to freshmen I in the academic department at the ! close of the first semester in the 'University of California at Berke-' Berke-' ley, in recognition of distinguished distinguish-ed scholarship. Mrs. M. P. Lewis had been a delightful hostess to members of the M. G. club. Mrs. Charles Miller, Mil-ler, Mrs. Jack Weston, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Murdock and Mrs. Vernon Johnson had won prizes at cards. Invited guests were Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Murdock ,Mrs. Scott Tanner, Mrs. Eph Smith, Miss Letha Schow and Miss DrucilkiTanner. Mrs. F. R. Levi had been host- ess to J;he Jelly Stitchers club. Those present were Mrs. A. Johnson, John-son, Mrs. E. H. Bird, Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. Eb Tanner, Mrs. J. A. Hedges, Mrs. Karl Levi, Mrs. N. C. Schow, Mrs. Albert Haring, Mrs. Ruth Sanford, Mrs. J. H. Weston, Mrs. Maurice Johnson, Mrs. Scott Tanner and Miss Ar-dath Ar-dath Johnson. |
