Show Earl Tebbs Suffers Serious Injuries Another Panguitch Man Is Killed In Same Accident One pedestrian was killed and another critically injured when they were struck by an automobille allegedly al-legedly driven by Vera Applegate, 22, a sheepherder of Parowan, on Main street, Parowan, at 2:45 a.m. Sunday. Sun-day. Thomas Lambert, 37, of Panguitch, was killed instantly. Earl Tebbs, 37, also of Panguitch, suffered two broken legs, a fractured skull, a crushed chest and internal injuries, and attendants at the Iron county hospital, where he was taken, held little hope for his recovery. Tebbs is well known in Milford having made this town his headquarters in the winter time while runnng sheep out west. An inquest jury returned a verdict holding that Mr. Lambert was killed by an automobile driven by Apple-gate Apple-gate at an unlawful rate of speed. The verdict was returned after a hearing before City Justice Alvin Benson Sunday afternoon. Applegate was being held in the county jail pending further action of the county attorney. The accident was reported to have occurred as Mr. Lambert and Mr. Tebbs stepped around their automobile automo-bile to enter it from the street side, preparatory to returning home after atttending the boxing show and a dance in Parowan Saturday night. Mr. Tebbs already had got into the car. Mr. Lambert's body was dragged 75 feet after the impact. Applegate was accompanied by Miss Phyllis Mortenson. Mr. Lambert is - survived by his widow, Mrs. Tessie Goff Lambert, and four chldren. o |
